The Ballet Ariel Company, founded in 1998 by Director Ilena Norton, delights audiences with the diversity of their programs and dancers. From beautiful classical ballets, exciting contemporary dances, to original narrative ballets, Ballet Ariel offers an interesting and stimulating repertoire. Patricia Renzetti, former Colorado Ballet prima ballerina, joined Ballet Ariel in 2004 as Company Rehearsal Director, and has staged many classical ballets for the company including Pas de Quatre, La Vivandière, Les Sylphides, and excerpts from Sleeping Beauty and La Bayadère. Former Colorado Ballet principal Gregory Gonzales has choreographed several contemporary works for the company including Figments of My… and Storm. Artistic Director Ilena Norton’s ballet Echelons was a wonderfully staged interpretation of Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar. Her original choreography includes pieces like Latin Movements and Elements, as well as a commitment to presenting new narrative ballets.
Ballet Ariel is a professional performing company that receives support from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, The Denver Foundation, and Denver Ballet Guild.
